5.1. Methodological overview

The methodology followed in this course is oriented towards achievement of the learning objectives. It favors the critical study of the need, mechanisms and consequences of the economic politics applied to the agricultural sector.

Topic 1: Origins and need for agricultural policies

Topic 2: Main instruments of state intervention in agricultural markets

Topic 3: Quantification of support in the agricultural sector. OECD methodology

Topic 4: European Agricultural Policy (CAP). Historical Development: 1957-1992

Topic 5: European Agricultural Policy (CAP). Historical Development: 1992-2014

Topic 6: European Agricultural Policy (CAP): 2014-2020

Topic 7: USA agricultural policy

Topic 8: Rural development policies in the European Union
